A great blog! It is well thought out, clear and precise. Many of these things would apply to other distros, but not all such as wubi.
Other things to consider are eye candy (lots of it with 3D effects and virtual desktops galore), stability (it never needs to be re-booted and seldom crashes), no nags ever, no DRM or similar restrictions and spying on you associated with it, full control and configurabilty, variety and choice (from over 300 distros to dozens of desktops and window managers), lack of maintenance (it does not need to be defragmented), you don't have a full system tray of add-ons slowing down your system in order to maintain security or put there without asking after installing a program) and the menu is alphabetized and put into logical groups and new icons automatically go in the right category.

I guess you could have gone to maybe as high as fifty. Just kidding. Great work in assembling these. Even just a couple are worthy of switching to Ubuntu for.

Yes.
These all points are very good.

If we Switch over to GNU/Linux then we are very secure and free to use it.

At the same time we are also saving lots of time.

And now with Virtualization we can use it for its maximum usage. Can save energy and cooling requirement too.
And testing can also be done at a time, while using our running Ubuntu.

I hope we all use GNU/Linux Ubuntu for our comfert life.

Regards,
Ashish Barot.

1. Since most people buy machines with Windows preinstalled, they have already paid for it, like it or not. Most major software for Linux can also run on Windows (with some notable exceptions).

9 & 10. Viruses are becoming less and less of a problem. Most malware relies on social engineering rather than exploits in poorly written code. Ubuntu is definitely safer out of the box, but a competent user will be safe on any system and an incompetent user is always at risk.

Otherwise, a good list. I use Slackware myself, but you've made some very good points.
